  • Clinical Supervision

Clinical Supervision is required by law in the State of New Mexico for all Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHC).  I am designated by the State of New Mexico as a Clinical Supervision provider.  I am required to up date this designation each 2 year license renewal, by taking 9 hours of supervision specific CEUs (continuing education units).   It is my commitment then, to offer ethical support to others as it has been previously offered to me, until I acquired my Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) licensing.  I am looking forward to working with you as you move forward in your practice of psychotherapy.  It will be my honor and privilege to support you in a variety of ways and to create a safe place in which you can share your successes and failures as you go.

I am licensed by the New Mexico Therapy and Practice Board as an Independent Clinical Counselor (LPCC).  I am also approved by the same entity as a clinical supervisor and you can find my name on the state list of qualified practitioners.  I am a state approved CEU provider as well.  I’ll be keeping you apprised of any opportunities I’ll be offering to gather your needed continuing education hours, as they come up.

I received my Masters of Counseling Degree from Southwestern College, here in Santa Fe, in November of 2018 after which, I immediately applied for licensing as an LMHC and began my private practice.  I am now in my 7th year working with individuals, couples and family systems through the practice of relational psychotherapy.  I use the practice of mandalas, the studies of astrology, Body Mind Centering, Harm Reduction and Interpersonal Neurobiology as appropriate in working with everyone I see.  My clients vary in age, gender, sexuality and ethnic background.  I am delighted to support them all, whether online or in person, on their very particular journeys.

I encourage a collaborative approach to any potential use of psycho-pharmacology and ask the client involved to give their permission for this to their team of clinicians.

I offer Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD) to groups encountering loss and/or transitional shifts in the workplace.  As well, and more importantly; I offer preventive consulting to these entities in an effort to make the workplace a more mentally healthy environment.

In the practice of clinical supervision; I follow the American Counseling Association Code of Ethics as I do in my private practice of psychotherapy.  I will recommend to you that we meet for an hour every possible week, allowing for travel and illness, etc., for the duration of our work together.  We will meet in person, via zoom or potentially by phone as agreed between us.  My fee is $85.00 for each hour session and is due at the time of service.  Payment methods include Zelle, Square, Venmo, checks and cash.

As in my psychotherapy practice; a three day notice is required for cancellation other than in the case of an emergency or serious illness.  Cancellations within the three day period, other than for one of these reasons, will be charged the full fee of $85.00.

Self Care will be a top priority in our work together.  I will recommend some particular reading for your enrichment; I will strongly recommend that you be, yourself, in continuing therapy, as a very basic and crucial part of your own Self Care.  Otherwise; I will use the same methods, as appropriate for our work as I do with my counseling clients.

The standards of my profession require that I maintain appropriate records of your supervision.  However; everything you discuss with me will be held in strict confidence, as will the fact that you are a client, with the following limitations:

  1. I must report any ongoing abuse of vulnerable persons (children, elderly or mentally impaired individuals) to the appropriate state/local agencies;
  2. I must disclose information if I judge that disclosure is necessary to protect against a “clear and substantial risk of imminent harm: to yourself or another person that I become aware of in the course of our work;
  3.  If you authorize me, explicitly, to do so; I may share information about our work in educational settings and written materials for educational purposes, only with your name and other identifying details anonymized or disguised;
  4. If you authorize me, in writing, to do so; I will share my records of your supervision with other health-care providers or other people or agencies you specify;
  5. I will respond appropriately to court orders and subpoenas according to the law in effect at the time of the subpoena/order.
